Forecasts use Perth sunshine, Synergy's 2026 prices and the price rise you pick. Figures include GST and leave out install costs.
What goes into these numbers
- Solar: 4.25 kWh a day for each kW of panels (Perth's 5 peak sun hours (PSH: Hours of full-strength sunshine in an average day.) × 85% after losses from the inverter, wiring and dirt).
- Prices: Synergy's 2026 A1, Midday Saver and EV Add-On rates on the main Perth and South West grid (SWIS: The electricity network most WA homes are connected to.).
- Future years: the price rise you set on the slider.
- Solar you use at home: the share you set.
- Solar you send back: Synergy's solar export payment (DEBS: Synergy's payment for the solar power you send back to the grid.) pays 10c a kWh from 3pm to 9pm and 2c at other times for new systems. The older solar export scheme (REBS: Synergy's earlier solar export payment, still paid to some older systems.) pays 7.135c a kWh flat where the application reached Synergy by 7 Sep 2020.
